Elf is a brand knows for their affordable products. Over the past few years they have really started competing with other makeup brands in terms of quality, and they’ve even produced some impressive dupes for high end makeup (please comment below if you’d like to see an Elf dupes review). Many of Elf’s products have found their way into my collection and given that we all love saving money when we can, I’d though I’d share my favorites with you.
1. Matte Lip Color $3.00
These Matte Lip colors are really great and now come in large variety of colors. They twist up (no need to sharpen) and come in a slip tube so you can easily apply this without a lip liner. While this formula is not the most hydrating (matte lip products rarely are!), the application, formula and wear time easily compete with much more expensive matte lip crayons.
2. Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths $3.00
This is a fantastic product that will save you a ton of money. I LOVE these cleansing cloths. Others I’ve tried are more expensive, can burn or sting my eyes and don’t remove makeup as well. I go through these things very quickly, so the value is really great. On Elf’s website, you can grab a 2 pack for $5.00. They have also started selling several different varieties of these wipes including Hydrating Water Cleansing Cloths $4.00, Fragrance-Free Cleansing Cloths $3.00 and Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths $3.00.
3. Lip Exfoliator $3.00
This product looks like a lipstick but it is actually a lip exfoliator in a tube. Most lip exfoliators come in a jar and require that you use your fingers to scrub. These just require a bit of scrubbing straight from the tube and are very effective in removing dead skin from your lips. They come in a variety of scents, but I still prefer the original because it smells like brown sugar and vanilla. I’ve tried the mint and the sweet cherry and while both were good, I felt like I used them up quicker than the original.
4. Highlighting Brush $3.00
I have a mix of expensive makeup brushes and really cheap ones in my collection because I use what actually works. My favorite highlighting brush is the Elf Highlighting brush. This brush picks up the perfect amount of product, is the perfect size for application and blends your highlight out beautifully. I loved it so much I bought a second one and use that to set my concealer. This brush works great with both packed and lose powder and washed really well. I’ve had mine for 5 years with no sheading, and at $3.00, it’s a Christmas miracle!
5. Powder Blush Palettes $6.00
Elf blushes are fantastic. They are pigmented, they blend beautifully and come in a variety of colors. These palettes come in both a light and dark version and each pan pops out. This feature is nice because you can rearrange the shades for traveling or pop one out, throw a magnet on the back of it and add it to your Z Palette. At $1.50 per shade, you really can’t beat the value.
6. Shape & Stay Brow Pencil $2.00
I received this in a Walmart favorite’s box about a month ago and I can’t stop using it. I used to use a brow gel but fell in love with the matte appearance of this wax pencil as well as how fast and easy it was to use. The texture is light so you are not adding a lot of product to your brows, but you get some substantial hold without the crunch of a gel.
Elf does a lot of sales on their website and my favorite is when they do 50% off. When that happens I really like to stock up!
